New Cricut Explore Print then Cut feature

Hello and Happy Saturday all! This week Cricut released the new Print then Cut feature in the Cricut Explore. Even though this is a feature I might not use a lot, but glad to know it is here.  I have the Silhouette Cameo which has this feature and I really have had no luck getting it to work properly and have watch numerous videos.  I have to say that this feature on the Cricut Explore is so easy to use.  First you will need to update and calibrate your machine and it will guide you through the process.  Now when you go to upload your images, you will find a tab in the filter that says printables.  I just scanned it a little bit and found this thank you tag from a set called Chalkboard Tags.  I placed three on the mat as shown in the first picture.
Once I size and hit go it brought up the mat like in this picture and it started printing in my printer.
This is how the sheet looked like when it came out of my printer and I just have a cheap HP that came with my laptop I got last December, but does a great job for me and the ink is reasonable.
I put it on my mat and it cut these out so perfect and they are great to use on some little thank you gifts.  If you are on the fence about purchasing this machine, I have to say that I was like that because I felt so disappointed with Cricut.  The new CEO is making sure that the customers needs are being addressed and listening to what we have to say.  After seeing and reading many things, I decided to get this machine and I have to say, it is amazing.  The cut is so good and I think it is the new blade.  I have no complaints on the machine at all.  Right now I am still waiting for them to fix the problem with uploading my Gypsy to CCR so I can use the 300 plus cartridges, but I call and they are still working and have extended the membership.  I love that I can use SVGs from any company.  I applaud Cricut for going in the positive direction and listening to the customer.  Be sure to join me and a few of my friends for a very special week starting Monday....

Quick little treat box!

Welcome to another project here at Exploring Cricut and More. Today I am sharing a quick and very easy treat box perfect for Halloween.  These can be made very quickly and no trouble if you need a few for the kids school.  I used the Silhouette Cameo and this is a Samantha Walker file #66750 called Halloween Witch Gable Box available in the Silhouette store.  I used one full sheet of cardstock for the box and the rest of it was used with scraps.  Love when I can do that with scraps.  I might make a few of these for my nieces and nephews this year.  See you Thursday with another project.  Will be trying the Print then Cut on the Cricut Explore as soon as it is available.

A Little Fall Decorating!

Hello and thanks for joining me for the last day of Fall project week. I want to thank my friends Annette and Sharon for contributing this week. Be sure to keep watching because some more of my friends will be sharing when we have week long events. Another one coming soon!!!! Today I am sharing some home decor with you.  First off, I have created this adorable little scarecrow from SVG Cuts   He is from the Leaves are Falling set.  After watching Mary's video, he went together pretty easy.  I just used some pattern scraps I had in my stash and cardstock. I also used my Cricut Explore. He makes a cute decoration that you can leave up this after Thanksgiving.

Next I have created a set of fall blocks.  My husband cut some pine wood into 4 x 4 pieces and I painted them with acrylic paint.  I used vinyl and cut out the letters.  This is a set of letters from My Vinyl Designer  and this is from the Chevron Alphabet set and this is alphabet 14.  I love how they turned out and make a great fall decoration.
This is how my mantle looks with the two pieces I made.  I just added some leaves and candles to complete the fall decor.  Try some of these items we have shared this week for your Fall decorating.  Today is the last day to enter the challenge.  You can enter for the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to SVG Cuts.  Link closes at 10 pm eastern time tonight .  You can't win if you do not enter!!!!

Let's Celebrate Fall!!!

Hello and hope you are enjoying the Fall projects I have been sharing with you this week. Today I am sharing two projects from SVG Cuts Enchanted Autumn set.  With all the great sets they sell and when you get so many different ideas in each set, it is hard to pick what you want to do!!!  Today I am doing the Colorful Corn Card.  I think this would make a great invitation to a Fall dinner or Thanksgiving.  I used cardstock for this one and I embossed the corn with the Cuttlebug mesh folder. I also used my Cricut Explore for both of these projects today.
This is a fun idea to decorate your fall table.  These are the Cornstalk luminaries.  I did not have any twine so just used ribbon to tie them till I get to the store.  Theses fit the Dollar Tree little LED tealight candles too.  Just two cuts and glue together so easy peasy!!  They really look cute when the lights are on.  Don't forget to enter our challenge this week for a chance to win a $15.00 Gift Certificate to SVG Cuts.  I want you to try out their SVG files for yourself on me!!  Just link your project by the close of challenge on Saturday evening.  Join me tomorrow when my friend Annette shares a wonderful Fall creation with you!!!

Celebrating a little more Fall!

Hello and welcome to day 2 of wonderful Fall projects. Today I am sharing another project from SVG Cuts Crisp Days of Autumn set.  This is a wonderful box perfect for treats, gift cards, or some wonderful jewelry.  It is only 4 pieces, I did cut two leaves, but this one is so easy.  The inner box is one piece and if you are using your Cricut Explore like I did for this one, be sure to look at the directions which are on a pdf that you can print out and see the size you should make it.  Mary and Leo have made this so easy for us.  You can also score this with your tool or let the machine cut the score marks for you.  Just remember to attach those score marks to the piece!!!!  I had some pattern paper in a stack from WeR Memory and some from DCWV for this and cardstock from Michaels.  I embossed the leaves and inked them.  I also added a couple buttons.  Then I filled it with some goodies as you see in the last picture.  Now time for you to make your Fall project and be sure to link it for a chance to win a **$15 Gift Certificate from SVG Cuts **and make some really fabulous things.

Fall is in the air and so is a new challenge!!!

Happy Monday and welcome to Exploring Cricut. This week a couple of my crafty friends and I will be sharing this fabulous Fall projects with you.  We also have a challenge and you are to create a Fall project with any die cut machine.  You can use either SVG files , cartridges, or dies.  We want to see what inspires you!!!  My project is a layout that just screams fall with the sunflowers, pumpkins, and leaves!  I created this layout using SVG files from SVG Cuts and this is from the Crisp Days of Fall set.  You will see another project later this week. I also used my Cricut Explore.  It is easy to use the svg files in the Explore.  For this I just used cardstock and inked the edges.  I know that I will have the perfect pictures for this.  If you look at the sunflower you will see I used the cuttlebug embossing folder on the center and some stickles.  I also curled the top piece.  Sorry for the bad picture, but it was night because I was gone all day, hence bad lighting!!!  Now we can not have a challenge without something fabulous.
I will be giving one lucky entry in the challenge a $15.00 gift certificate to:

You just need to link your project by Saturday, September 20 by 10 pm eastern time to be entered.  We can't wait to see your project and be sure to come back here everyday this week to see some new Fall inspiration.  Winner will be picked by random.org and no backlinks and you may enter 2 projects per person.  Be sure to join me tomorrow for another project.

Time for a Birthday!

I can't believe this, but my baby is turning 35 on Saturday.  I have two sons and can't believe the time has flown by so fast.  I am so lucky to have wonderful sons who are great husbands and the best fathers in the world.  They make me proud everyday.  Just hard seeing them grow up, but they know they will always be my babies!!!  For this card I used my cartridges and was inspired by something I seen on Pinterest.  I admit that male cards do not come easy to me at all.  I stuggle with ideas and when I was drawing a blank went to Pinterest and this is a combination of several I liked.  I used the Cricut Explore and the cartridges Pretty Pennants, Nate's ABC's and Ribbons and Rossettes.  I used the embossing folders Chevron for the background from CTMH and on the pennant used the Star from Cuttlebug.  From Pretty Pennants, I cut the 3 pennants at sizes 2 x 4.5, 2 x 3.5, and 2 x 3.00.  The number 35 is from Nate's ABC's cut at 1.5 inches.  The star is from Ribbon and Rossettes cut at 2 and 2.5 inches.  I also used Outdoor Denim ink from CTMH.  I have been working on several projects this week, but can't show them yet because I am hosting a bridal luncheon for my soon to be sister in law.  Will share this soon.  Join me Monday for a challenge.....details coming!!!

My Dog Loves Me Layout

Hello and welcome to another project using my Cricut Explore. I wanted to get this on yesterday, but we had the granddaughters over the weekend and hubby is feeling better now, so we just had some fun! I just finished the little ones 2011 album, (I know I am totally behind) and found these cute pictures of when she got her little puppy.  His name is Tres and she loves him so much.  He is a little crazy, but very lovable.  His name came because he was the 3rd dog that came into the family since my son and daughter in law got married in 2000.  The other two went to doggy heaven and now it is just Tres.  I used Miss Kate Cuttables svg files My Dog Loves Me and the Dog house.  These were so simple to use in the Cricut Explore and be sure to snag her freebie everyday!!!  I just used some CTMH cardstock and some pattern scraps I had in my stash.  I am hoping today to get a couple more projects ready for this week.  One is a birthday card because my baby is turning 35 on Saturday!!!  I will see you again this week.  Be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Facebook.  Coming soon a challenge and some special prizes.

Time for a little home decor!!!

Hello and welcome! Today I have a little home decor project to share with you. Can you believe that the holidays are knocking on the door already!!!  Today I have some wood blocks that I have created with vinyl to share with you.  This blocks are cut from Popular wood because it is smooth and cut 4 x 4.  I usually prime them if I have to use acrylic paint, but I like to use Rustoleum 2x Painters Touch spray paint and you can't buy it in my town.  I use 631 Oracle vinyl from Expressions Vinyl and the design I am using is from My Vinyl Designer and this is Alphabet 3.  I love using their svg files because it contains the commercial rights and you can sell your items without buying an additional license.  I used my Cricut Explore to cut the vinyl.

This is a great one for Halloween and I have some other designs I am working on. Before I add the vinyl I distress the wood a little.
This set of Joy is just with some rough old wood and it is not one I am selling, but one I made to see how they would look.  I have some almost ready for selling.
This is a set I created for my daughter in law for her craft space and in the colors she requested.  I love how these turned out and will be working on some other fonts.  Thanks for joining me today!!!
